Stamping is perhaps the best way to customize your project. Set against the color and texture of your binding material, an embossed logo or title gives your finished piece extra impact and a luxurious appearance.
- Stamping is available in:
- 18 carat gold
- 4 different shades of imitation gold
- 3 shades of silver
- 3 finishes of black
- Assorted metalics and colors
- Blind--no color, just impression
- Limitations of stamping:
- Coarse fabrics and soft leather don't stamp as well as fine grain fabrics and smooth hard leather.
- Small or fine type doesn't stamp as well as large or bold type.
- Large solid areas of foil tend to not fill in fully.
- To have a die made for foil stamping we will need one of the following:
- Camera ready art at 100%
- Digital file with a print out at 100%
- Film positive emulsion side up at 100%
- We recommend that you look at the stamping on the spines of some of the hard cover books on your shelf. Examine the type and how well or poorly different type stamps.
- We will be happy to make suggestions and show you many examples of good stamping design. We can also test stamp your choice of materials to ensure that your design creates the best effect possible.
